Disclaimer

Please read this disclaimer carefully before using the calculators or guides on One Rep Max Calculate (onerepmaxcalculate.com).
1. Not Medical or Professional Advice
Everything on this site is for general education and information. It is not medical advice, a diagnosis, or a personal exercise prescription, and it does not replace advice from a doctor, physiotherapist, or certified coach.
If you have an injury, heart or blood pressure concern, are pregnant, or have any condition that could affect training, speak with a qualified professional before starting or changing a program. Never ignore professional advice because of something you read here.
2. Lifting Carries Risk
Heavy lifting, and especially testing a true one-rep max, can cause injury. To train more safely:
- Warm up thoroughly before heavy sets
- Use a power rack or safety bars and secure your plates with collars
- Train with a spotter for heavy squats and bench presses
- Get coaching if you are new to barbell training
- Stop if you feel sharp pain, dizziness, or unusual discomfort
You are fully responsible for your own safety and training choices.
3. Calculator Results Are Estimates
Our calculators predict your maximum using established formulas such as Epley, Brzycki, Lombardi, Mayhew, O’Conner, Wathan, and others. The numbers they produce are mathematical approximations, not measured lifts.
Your real max can differ because of technique, fatigue, sleep, nutrition, equipment, exercise variation, and even the time of day. Please keep these points in mind:
- Estimates based on fewer reps (about 2–6) are usually more dependable than those from high-rep sets.
- Different formulas give different answers. Comparing several can give you a realistic range.
- If you need an official or verified max, for example for a meet, use a supervised testing session.
4. Individual Results Vary
Any chart, percentage, strength standard, or example on this site is a general reference, not a promise. Progress depends on age, experience, genetics, body weight, recovery, and many other factors, so your results may differ from what you see here.
